    Tons of recipes!

I bought this for my mom as a gift and she loves it! Thereโ€™s tons of different recipes in it for her to try on her espresso machine. The few recipes I glanced at provide clear ingredient lists and step by step directions. Perfect for somebody whoโ€™s new to coffee or looking for different ways to change up your go to drink.

    Excellent!

Great recipes to make at home that don’t rely on sugar syrups. Well rounded collection, from simple espressos and cappuccinos to flavored lattes and frappes. An excellent book for an at-home wannabe barista! I like his sense of humor and straight forward but down to earth writing style. I sampled a lot of coffee books and even bought another, in addition to this one. But this will be the one I work through, practicing every recipe. Thank you!

    Donโ€™t bother

A waste of money. It seemed like there should have been more exciting content. I didnโ€™t want a book that told me how to make a latte or americano. This is definitely a book for those that no nothing about coffee. I mean, nothing.

    Lots of interesting recipies

This is a nice little compact book with a bunch of interesting recipes to try out with your coffee. I am eager to try a bunch of these out once we have an espresso maker. There are 10-12 recipes that you can make with regular coffee, but the vast majority need espresso. The only thing that disappoints me about this book is the lack of photos of any finished drinks. My favorite part of any recipe book is the photos, and there isn’t a single one in this book.

    A Fun Coffee Book

What did I like about the book? I liked that is compact, cute and has great recipes. There are 50 coffee and espresso drinks that you can save money on because you can make it at home! There are recipes that can be consumed day or night! It does not matter if you want to use beans or already ground up grounds. Beans are the best way to go but if you don’t have time to ground up your coffee, just make sure that your grounds are fresh! You can make coffee-based drinks, classic espresso drinks, flavored lattes, frozen drinks, and milkshakes and if you are daring, coffee cocktails! All in a little book with 50 recipes! I am a coffee drinker and love a different drink in the evening. I have a latte machine and can froth milk so I love the recipes in this book and can’t wait to try them.If like me you love a variety, then get this little book that can be kept next to the coffee pot!I received a copy of this book for review purposes only.

Cute book for yourself or as a gift to the coffee lover in your life

This has some really fun and interesting recipes for coffee beverages. I gave it to my girlfriend that just loves coffee and usually has several cups in a day for her sanity. LOL. They should offer more booze related coffee beverages though. That would be even more fun. Night caps with a bit of a kick are the best.

    Some great ideas

OMG – I can’t believe that I never thought to make a mint chocolate chip frappe before! Page 122 is chocolate mint frappe using ice cream. I used Baskin Robbins mint chocolate chip ice cream and holy cow this is good! We’re definitely going to try some of the other flavored recipes.I’m using my Saeco espresso machine with it’s attached milk steamer/frother and the measurements from the book for lattes, machiatto etc. These recipes are just as good as the ones my machine is already programmed to make. This is a fun book that I didn’t realize I actually needed.

    Tiny and simple.

Cute book, though I wonder if the world needs yet another coffee recipe bookโ€ฆThe dirty matcha latte was good but recipes tend to call for WAY too much matcha powder. (Maybe they are getting bad stuff?) I usedย

Matcha DNA USDA Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder

ย which is very good and strong. I doubled the coffee recipe, for two people, but I kept the matcha amount the same as for one. It was plenty strong on the matcha side that way.The Maple Latte was tasty and easy to adjust for different sweetness preferences. I cut back the milk, but I think it would have been good with the recipe amount. The instructions were simple but good enough.

Adds Creativity to Your Coffee Drinking Routine

We drink a good deal of coffee in my home. We rely on the coffee and espresso machine that sits on my countertop- and that I have included in one of the pictures here- to supply us with fresh brew and we are always looking for ways to make the coffee even more interesting than before. A book that helps consumers find creative way to make coffee drinks is The Coffee Recipe Book: 50 Coffee and Espresso Drinks to Make From Home, a book I received complements of the publisher.Sized like a handbook, this coffee recipe book is part educational guide and part recipe book. The first 42 pages deal with education, helping you understand the different types of coffee- making appliances; coffee history; the different types of coffee beans; and glassware. The recipes comprise the remainder of the book and are divided into sections for Coffee Based Drinks, Espresso Drinks, Flavored Lattes, Frozen Drinks and Milkshakes, and Coffee Cocktails. The recipes section is where most consumers will spend their time and I like how, with each recipe, there is a quick background on the drink and a few sentences describing it and letting you know more about its origins, character, etc. This is much better than other recipe books, most of which give you the name of the drink and nothing more. Each recipe includes ingredients and step by step instructions. If you want simpler, easier drinks to make, the ones in the Coffee Based Drinks and Espresso Drinks sections are your best shot. The lattes tend to take the longest. I can remember making the gingerbread latte using the recipe in this book and while the end result was certainly tasty, it took quite a while to complete.Coffee is the most consumed beverage in my home. With The Coffee Recipe Book: 50 Coffee and Espresso Drinks to Make From Home, I have quick guide I can grab whenever I feel like adding some creativity to my drinks. I would like the book better if it contained full color illustrations of at least some of the drinks and I would also like if it used actual pictures and not drawings, which is what it does throughout. But this is still a good book for lovers of coffee and it is lots of fun thumbing through the recipes and creating delicious coffee concoctions from the comfort of your kitchen.

Helpful Introductory Book For Home Barista

I’m a coffee and espresso drinker, and stopping by my local specialty coffee place has been an almost daily event for years. This past year, after being at home so much, I’ve had to pick up quite a few DIY skills. One of the handiest has been learning to make my own specialty coffee and espresso drinks. The Coffee Recipe Book: 50 Coffee and Espresso Drinks to Make at Home has been a helpful introductory book on my journey to becoming a home barista. Each chapter provides some insight into this delicious art. The first two chapters are really explanations of some background facts, concepts, and techniques, but are still enlightening. Chapters three through seven cover the making of actual coffee drinks. There are recipes for time-tested drinks such as Cappuccino and Americano, and more exotic drinks such as Dirty Matcha Latte and Coconut Coffee Smoothie. I’ve had a lot of fun at home with the the chapter on Coffee Cocktails, and really enjoyed the Espresso Martini and Coffee Old-Fashion in particular. While this book only has 50 recipes, it covers many of the well known drinks, many of which I had never gotten around to ordering at the coffee shop. It was a good way for me to learn and sample many of the hot and cold coffee beverages that I’ve often seen on the menu. I wish, however, that this book contained photographs of the drinks as well. I looked up most of the drinks online before trying each recipe just so I would have a better idea of how it should look. All the same, the book was still a good first step for me in learning this coffee-making skill. If you like coffee and haven’t spent much time making your own specialty espresso drinks, than this introductory book might be for you as well.

Excellent introduction to coffee, some great recipes

This coffee cookbook is quite a helpful guide to making coffee, from choosing beans to actual recipes. The introduction is very thorough educating the reader about the coffee process. Thereโ€™s lots of information about beans, roasts, grinding methods, and brewing methods. From this standpoint, itโ€™s a great cookbook. The coffee recipes that Iโ€™ve tried have been OK so far. To me, it seems like the basic recipes are great, but the flavored drinks often lean on the too sweet side. I donโ€™t have espresso equipment, so I canโ€™t try those yet. So far, the cold brew coffee was absolutely perfect. The milk and honey cold brew that I made using the cold brew was decent โ€“ flavors were delicious, but honey doesnโ€™t exactly mix into liquid when itโ€™s cold. Also, it was too sweet for me as-is. The Mexican coffee was VERY VERY sweet (2 tablespoons of sugar in 8 oz of coffee???), and I only made it with half the sugar in the recipe. Iโ€™m looking forward to trying the espresso recipes once I get access to an espresso machine. Overall, I would recommend this cookbook if youโ€™re looking for a coffee book as a gift or for yourself. Just bear in mind that the sugar content in some of the flavored drinks is on the high side.

For coffee lovers who like to try new things

I almost didn’t order this book, but in addition to recipes for 50 coffee recipes, this little book contains some interesting info on the history of coffee and how best to brew it, how important water temperature is, etc. I love coffee and sometimes roast my own, but I learned from this 22 page introductory section. Then comes the recipe section. I’m not really big on experimenting with coffee–why mess up a good thing, but this doesn’t have lots of recipes–I was glad to have instructions on how to make a good latte. And there are coffee recipes from a variety of countries. I must say, though, that I learned to make my Turkish coffee in Turkey. I and my Turkish friends use about twice as much coffee as this book called for here and did the foaming differently. That doesn’t mean the recipe here is bad, it’s just now how my Turkish friends made it. Then there are some alcoholic recipes–not my thing, but perhaps yours. This would be a fun thought gift for your coffee loving friend.

    The Coffee Recipe Book

This recipe book includes directions for creating 50 coffee and espresso drinks and its strength is that all of the drinks, familiar and new, are contained in one volume. The book is a paperback and it measures just 6 1/2 by 6 1/2 by 1/2 inch. There are no photographs but pleasant graphics are sprinkled throughout. The chapters include The Basics, Your Best Brew, Coffee-Based Drinks, Classic Espresso Drinks, Flavored Lattes, Frozen Drinks and Milkshakes and Coffee Cocktails. There is a helpful index in the back of the book to quickly locate specific drinks or subjects. The Basics chapter explains the beans from light to dark roast, types of grinders, size of grind, types of filters and coffee making and milk frothing/steaming devices. Your Best Brew explains how to create an excellent brew from how to pick the beans, proper grind, water temperature and quality, proper coffee quantity and information about removing impurities. There are good tips and informative charts included throughout the pages. This book is perfect for someone newly interested brewing good coffee and espresso. Master the basics and then use the recipes to incorporate what is learned in the first two chapters into more complex drink creations. The book is not mired in minutiae, instead it is written in a way that presents the subject so it is accessible to all users.

    for coffee lovers

Every morning I look forward to my cup of coffee.ย  I sip it as I take some time to read a novel andย  find this to be an excellent way to start a day.ย If you would like to have a coffee drink that is a bit fancier, this book contains 50 recipes for just that.ย  One caveat, a number of them seem to depend on having an espresso maker.ย  That said, there are some great looking drinks here including Cafe au Lait, Cold Brew, Scandinavian Coffee, Flat White, Cubano, a number of flavored lattes and frozen drinks like a mocha frappe or an affogato.ย  The book concludes with some coffee cocktail recipes. In addition to the recipes this title has information on the different coffee roasts, types of grinders for beans, filters, coffee history, coffee makersย  and more.If coffee is you thing, you might want to give this title a look. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.#TheCoffeeRecipeBook #NetGalley

Lots of recipes for different methods of coffee and coffee drinks, including frozen and cocktails

As the cover says, this book is all about coffee and espresso drinks. The first chapter on The Basics starts with info on beans, roasts, grinds, filters, and brewing methods/devices. Second chapter tells how to get the best brew. Then chapters of recipes are Coffee Based Drinks, Classic Espresso Drinks, Flavored Lattes, Frozen Drinks & Milkshakes, and Coffee Cocktails. Great little book for anyone looking to make more of their own specialty coffee drinks at home or people who really love coffee and want some new ideas of things to make. I was a little surprised that the flavored lattes for the most part used spices or straight ingredients rather than making a flavored syrup. The book also has no photos, which a few might have been nice.I received a copy of this title directly from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
