The best cup of coffee great
Over ten years ago my daughter worked at a Starbucks the specialty marked packages. for the Dec holiday would be removed the day after and they gave it to the help I opened my refrigerator and there were 3 or 4 bags of Starbucks coffee and started to make make coffee there were a few different ones they were all good and when I brewed the Sumatra blend oh boy I was sold makes a great cup of coffee!

My favorite coffee at a great price
This is my favorite coffee. I drink 3 cups, black, every morning. I love the taste. The packaging keeps the coffee fresh. The quality is always as expected, very good.The seller packaged the coffee to arrive in perfect condition.

The taste was not goid
I have been buying this coffee by subscription for a few years, and I have enjoyed it very much. However, the last 18 ounce bag that I received tasted horrible. I could not find an expiration date on the bag, but I suspect that it was outdated. I canceled my subscription.

Starbucks has great coffee
I ordered this Starbucks coffee online and had it sent to a friend in Guam as a gift. I usually stock up on Starbucks coffee at the supermarket when it’s on sale and do pour overs at home. If you buy like I do i recommend checking the dates so you get the ones that have long shelf life. If you like dark bold Starbucks coffee the best ones are French, Espresso, Italian and Sumatra.

Never without it!
I created a subscription for Starbucks Sumatra so we are never out of it. In the past it has been discontinued at some local stores and price gouged at others. This way we never run out and it’s always a fair price!

Best Choice for Dark Brew
I’ve tried every one of Starbucks coffee’s and all are excellent but I settled on the Italian Dark Roast as my choice for daily coffee. The flavor is tops, the full body, and aroma make this a top choice for lovers of Dark roasts.

Great choice for cold brew!
I have tried many brands and types of coffee for my cold brew that I make at home and this is the BEST coffee for it. It’s not too “dark”/strong and makes the perfect flavor for cold brew. Also, some coffee have really strong smells that can be weird…not this one. Just add cream, syrup and/or sugar for a delicious drink!

Great tasting coffee.
When brewing a great cup of coffee is set up on a learning curve. Be consistent with measuring both coffee and water. Starbucks didn’t roast this too long or too hot so it does not taste burnt or bitter.

Recently changed to pour over method
I just recently changed to direct pour over method of brewing.I make just one cup at a time. The one cup I make is spectacular.It is far and away the best coffee I have ever tasted and I make itwith Starbuck’s Pike Place. It is so flavorful and so smooth.

Did Starbucks Pull a Fast One?
I’ve been buying bags of Pikes Place & House Blend for my mom every month for years. However, she feel that since they’ve changed the packaging, it does not taste the same, somethings different, somethings off, and it just doesn’t have the flavor than it used to. Maybe they pulled a Pepsi challenge scam and replaced natural cane sugar with that nasty high fructose corn syrup and in the end called it “Coca-Cola Classic” Do you know how hard it is to find Mexican Coca-Cola with pure cane sugar on the East Coast? Anyway, I think Starbucks pulled some kind of corporate bull crap, because corporations do these types of things to save money, pull the wool over the eyes of people who made them who they were. Enough of my philosophizing. Bottom line is it’s the only thing she likes out of all the coffee’s out there but it’s just not what it used to be. It’s like having a lever that used to be banging perfect and now you have a clone that goes to the motions. Hope this helps.

dark rich smooth
This is not exactly the Starbucks Italian Roast of yesterday. It is still very dark roast, but heavily dark chocolate. Which is fine, just not the in your face close to espresso feeling. I’d say, it’s dark, rich and smooth now. And the toasted marshmallow is very subtle, that is in the background. Almost like a dessert coffee. Low acid. I think, even more chocolate then I can taste in Starbucks Caffe Verona. I’d say, the Italian would make okay every day but could be especially nice as after dinner or dessert coffee. Delicious treat.

New packing, higher price, cheaper quality
I started drinking Starbucks Sumatra in March. The price has gone up and down from $10.76 to a high of $13.24 in June.Then, the color of the bag was changed to green, similar to decaf’s. Maybe it was an extra expense for that change. The first time I opened the bag, it tore next to the clip. Of years’ worth of coffee buying, I’m pretty sure none of the bags tore, for sure not Starbucks. Then the coffee itself tasted a little weaker. I’ve been using a new coffee maker the past three bags of Sumatra, and amñ careful about measuring the amounts I use. Now I expect the price to have gone up, but nearly 30% seems like too much for different (somewhat lower) quality. It even seems the flavor is different, but I won’t swear to it. I’m going to try different coffee, maybe a different brand, maybe Starbucks. I do want single origin, so I’ll try to find that. This certainly isn’t BAD coffee, just different, a disappointment.

Best dark roast IMO
I’ve tried a couple dark blends and this one is the best in my opinion. Not overwhelming and not over caffeinated like some other dark blends. It’s my favorite hands down. And also I didn’t get free coffee for this review. Just my 5am routine.
