WIDELY USE
FAQ:
Q1: What should you do if the coffee doesn’t come out? A1: Due to the air pressure, the coffee might not be able to come out. And the coffee grounds in the water also might block the inner tube and prevent the coffee from draining. Please use purified water only. Before each operation, please use cold water to run the device once. No need to install the portafilter, just double-click the button to extract. Not only can clean the inner part, but also avoid this problem. If this happens, please turn the body upside down and disassemble the portafilter. Then, pour some cold water into the water outlet. Finally, double-click the button to unblock air pressure. This problem can almost be fixed.
Q2: How many cups can you brew with one charge? A2: The original Espresso performs at its best when you extract with 50ml of water (Get 1 shot of 30ml espresso). So I would recommend you brew 50ml every time, and get 5 cups on a full charge. But if you are going to use 80ml of water, the machine can only extract 3 cups.
Q3: What should you do if the machine does not work? (Only beeps but not running)
1. (Beeps once) Press the power button to check if the batter is low (below 2 bars). Charge it fully before use.
2. (Beeps twice) Battery Overheating Protection is on. Please wait 5 mins before your next brew.
3. (Beeps three times) Boil-Dry Protection is on. Make sure there’s water in the tank before operating.
4. (No beeps, just lights flash alternatively) Short / Open Circuit Protection is on. Please contact Customer Support for help.
Q4: How to avoid water leakage (Failed Extraction)?
a) For ground coffee: Firstly, check if the ground coffee is too full, the ideal capacity is 5-6 grams, about 80% full. Secondly, check if you tamp the ground coffee before closing the lid. Thirdly, check if you put the holder into the portafilter properly. Finally, check if you install the portafilter and screw it in tightly. b) For coffee capsules: Firstly, check if you push the capsule firmly into the holder. Secondly, check if you put the capsule holder into the portafilter properly. Finally, check if you screw the portafilter into the body tightly, or else the brew may fail.
Q5: I pressed the button but it didn’t heat, and the espresso is cold, what to do? A5: If you press the button for more than 5 seconds, it will extract the coffee without heating the cold water. Please press for 2 seconds till hearing the beep and let go of the button.
Q6: How can I puncture the foil of the capsule successfully every time? A6: First, push the capsule firmly into the holder. Second, put the capsule holder into the portafilter properly. Third, screw the portafilter into the body tightly, or else the brew may fail.
Q7: What to do if Outin Nano fails to charge? A7: Check your wall charger and see if the output is 5V/3A. Only support adapters compatible with 5V/3A. Attention: If your machine hasn’t been used for a while, it might take longer to charge. Please be patient.
Q8: Can I use the machine while charging? A8: The machine can’t operate while charging.
Q9: How do you know if the machine is about to die? A9: If the lights flash 2 times and beep 1 time, that means it’s dying and you need to go charge it.
Q10: Can I bring it to mountain climbing? A10: Yes, but you should know that the higher the altitude, the lower the boiling point. The heating temperature will be below 94℃/201℉. I would recommend you take this machine to mountains that are below 6500ft.

Amazing little espresso maker
I don’t write a lot of reviews, however this little gadget has been phenomenal. I like the occasional espresso after dinner or as an extra kick in the morning. I drink coffee and espresso simple and black. So I wasn’t willing to commit to a large counter top appliance, and I grabbed this. This espresso has exceeded every one of my expectations. If you need a compact espresso maker to make a quick shot or two that has a decent quality that doesn’t need to hide with sugars and syrups, this it. Pair it with an electric kettle for home use to extend your battery life

Great tasting espresso, and fast!
The Outin Nano makes great tasting espresso. I like that you can use ground coffee as well as Nespresso cups. Most of the time I start with boiling water, and it holds a charge really well; I only recharge it when I am taking it with me and planning to brew from cold water. When using hot water it takes less than a minute to brew each cup.

No longer working after 6 months
The media could not be loaded.
Update:Replacement Outin mailed to me after email sent about malfunction. Great customer service. I’m back to loving this product again.Worked great for 6 months. Totally loved it when it was working. Now it is completely useless. It lights up as if it’s charged but it will not cycle. And there doesn’t seem to be a way to reach out to the seller on Amazon. Customer service would be nice. Can’t believe it would just stop working and without any support. Writing this review in hopes they will contact me and maybe be fair to their customers. Especially because I’ve told everyone how good this thing was!

Great for traveling.
Product is great and ready to travel. I usually get 3-4 full cycles of heating water and espresso out before the battery needs a charge. Look forward to the day when the battery last longer between charges. Would also be great if it would work being plugged in.

Absolutely a fantastic product
Quality. Nicely built. Good battery (I can make 3 double espresso – so probably about 5 / regular with 1 charge. Outin deserves the credit for building a great product. Highly recommend it.

Makes a decent espresso. It heats the water itself which I really needed and can be charged with USB. Gives me two or three rounds in one full charge.

End results amazing! A few issues to be improved
Alright. I’m a lifelong espresso drinker. Every morning. I make my morning latte every day. Someone gave me a Vienna Plus espresso machine and it’s saved my life and pocket book. The biggest problem I’ve had is when I go camping. I’d been doing those iced coffee Starbucks packets, but they were always so sweet and don’t hit the mark for me. On my camping/road trips I spent too much of my budget just making sure I’m caffeinated. And now I’m not giving my money to Starbucks (union busting my friends in Seattle) so I looked for other options.I thought about upgrading my solar battery to a larger output so I could bring my Vienna Plus espresso machine, but that’s ridiculous and big, and also expensive to upgrade to a high enough output. But I was tempted. Then someone mentioned this Outin compact espresso machine on their outdoorsy YouTube channel. (Modern Self Reliance) I don’t think he was sponsored by them, but just wanted to give a review. I put it in my mind bank because it was $140 at the time. Honestly still a reasonable price with the results I have. But then it was on sale for Prime Day at $111. I thought I’d give it a shot (pun intended). They take returns if I don’t like it.Let me tell ya.I was actually shocked. It might pull better shots than my Saeco Vienna Plus. And the espresso has a more sweet balance, which I like.Positives. Awesome shots, portable, charges fairly fast, but I recommend charging the night before if you have coffee dysfunction in the morning. It will use most of the battery for 3 shots. Works really well for iced latte.Negatives. Takes quite a while to heat up between shots (you can preheat the water to shorten this time). You need to watch out when you unload the spent coffee for the next shot because it can be really hot. The set up was confusing per the instructions and I needed to go to YouTube. There was a random piece that didn’t seem to be needed and maybe I’ll figure that out later. It says it takes Nespresso pods, but I absolutely could not figure out how to fit them in the space nor how it was supposed to puncture the pod, so I just cut open the pod and tamped the espresso directly in the device. At that point I may as well just buy pre-ground espresso for cheaper. Lesson learned. The instructions and pieces need to be color coded because all I can see in the pictures are “put this thing in this black cylindrical piece”. Which is almost all of the pieces! Maybe it was my eyesight. Maybe it was my lack of having had coffee. But I can imagine someone with a disability finding this confusing. [Update: When I was fully caffeinated I realized the extra piece was the slot for the pods. D’oh! See, this is why they should be color coded. But crisis averted for the rest of the trip. Which went great except for one particularly cold morning and the water was too cold to heat up the 3 double shots I was pulling. Pre heating the water is a good idea if you can.]Overall, despite those negatives, I recommend this device for those who have roughed it when going camping and hate that part of camping without a comforting espresso. It’s a nice little luxury amongst bugs and the 100°+ weather at Lake Siskiyou that we are being cursed with.Dare I say I might even be tempted to use this at home as well. Maybe. It does take a lot longer. But I really like the flavor of the shots. Highly impressed!

I’m so impressed with this gadget!
I travel a few times a year and when I’m at a hotel, the last thing I want is the coffee that is available in the room. I also don’t want to spend time and/or money looking for good coffee. I knew Amazon would have portable espresso options so I decided to do some research. After looking for what felt like forever, I decided to buy the Outin. My main reason is because this heats up the water if you didn’t have access to hot water and is compatible with Nespresso pods. So after receiving it, I waited until I had a trip to take it with me.About 2 months ago I brought it with me on a trip and watched a quick YouTube video on how to use it with a Nespresso pod. It was incredibly easy and made a nice shot of espresso with a good amount of crema. I recently brought it on another trip and had the same great results.I have to mention that before I bought this, I looked at the reviews and came across one that said they couldn’t figure out how to use it with a Nespresso pod. I was a tiny bit hesitant because of this but after trying it myself, I’m really confused as to what they couldn’t figure it. You just unscrew the bottom part, take out the part that is inside, push in the pod, put that part back in and then screw the bottom part very tight – that’s it!Honestly I love this thing so much! I’m so glad that I never have to worry about coffee when I go on a trip again. Best thing I’ve bought in a long time.

Excelent gadget for traveling coffee lovers!
I love coffee, and I can barely get up on the morning without my morning coffee. As my job requires, I have to travel a lot (I’m currently on a business trip to South America). For us who needs and enjoy a fresh brewed cup of coffee, this is a must. The dimensions are similar to a water bottle/travel mug, but heavier due to the battery and mechanism. It makes a delicious espresso, using a strong flavored pod (I haven’t used it with coffee powder). It takes about 3 minutes to make your delicious espresso. The battery lasts only for 3 brews, but it totally worth it considering it needs a lot of energy to boil the water and pump it through the pod/coffee grinds.Because the battery is made of lithium, you’ll need to take it on your carry on luggage at planes (cannot be taken on checked baggage, because of TSA restrictions), but it doesn’t take a lot of space. In my opinion it totally worth the money, the battery autonomy and the extra weight on you carry on!

Early indicator… winner
I got this for an incoming trip and tried it out today. Wow..way better than those manual espresso makers!! I made a 2 shot espresso for a cappuccino and it was so easy and tasted awesome.I’ll update after the trip. That will be the real test.Update after 2 week tripWow… I really enjoyed making espressos in this. I tried multiple Nespresso pods and each worked well. I always use 2 pods for my cappuccino, and it didn’t disappoint. I plugged it in every night and was able to make 2 double caps every morning. At no time did I lose power. It’s a bit heavy, but I put it between shirts in my luggage so it wasn’t noticable when rolling the bag.I love that you can also use your own grinds vs Nespresso. I haven’t tried that yet, but will on my next trip.

Great for travel
I like my coffee first thing in the morning. This is great for travel because I can make a couple shots of espresso without having to leave the hotel room. I’m using knock off pods and they work great. It will make 3 shots on a full charge heating the water. I have been using it at home to make a decaf (my super automatic espresso machine only has one bean hopper) in the evening using hot water from the kettle, and it works great and doesn’t use much power. To clean it, I remove the coffee holder and rinse the pieces. I fill the water compartment and pump the water through into the sink to rinse the inside. I like that you can use pods or ground. This works great and makes a good shot of espresso.

A delicious shot of espresso.
To be honest I was a little skeptical about the quality of espresso shots this little device would produce. We have a Rocket Giotto Type V for our home espresso machine. I used the same beans and grinder for the Nano as the Rocket. The Nano produce a delicious shot of espresso with a lot of crema. Going to do a comparison tomorrow between the Rocket and the Nano.We tested the Nano with cold water and with boiling water. With cold it took just under 4 minutes to heat up and used about 20% of batter power. If you have access to boiling water it definitely helps reduce the battery usage. They say you can extract 200+ shots using pre-boiled water. The shot with pre-boiled water was just as delicious.Looking forward to using the Nano while traveling. No more searching out espresso places only to be disappointed when the drinks tasted like burnt espresso.Only have had the Nano for a day so unsure about long-term use. Would definitely recommend the Nano. A lot of great espresso for the price.

One quirk
I travel a lot and LOVE espress (for reference I use a La Marzocco at home). I have quite a few portable espresso makers & am not a big pod guy but for pod coffee on the go, this is best solution. It’s exactly what most people probably want for quick and easy coffee. My one complaint is that it beeps, LOUDLY. It’s kind of embarrassing to make a coffee on a plane or in the airport when it draws so much attention… other than that, it’s well worth the buy.

Lasted 4 months
I bought this in May of 2023. I loved it. It was easy to use, made great espresso, easy to clean. The return window closed in June then the product support ended in August. Come mid September it stopped charging. The first light on it will blink when plugged in but won’t do anything else. I have tried several times to charge it even leaving it to charge for 2 days continuously to see if it was just really dead. It has not started working again. No way to contact the company and no other options. I need another one but will probably buy another brand.

You will be the envy of the entire camp
When I first tried to use this I had a little bit of an issue. I could not get it to brew. It would heat the water it would act like it was going to brew and then nothing would happen. There are troubleshooting videos in the description. One of them explain the problem perfectly and it was a very very easy fix. We took this on a 14-day road trip and had the best coffee the entire trip. If we decided we wanted a shot of espresso in the middle of nowhere while driving we would just grow a shot of espresso. When we were at camp and fully set up we would put hot water in the machine just to speed up the process. I know some people were saying that they got about five shots of espresso per charge but we never actually charged ours. We used it for the entire trip and never had to charge it. So I would say the battery is really awesome. We did use Nespresso pods so we didn’t have to deal with the mess and it worked out perfectly.

A great, innovative design that works really well. The only minor issue is the operating instructions are a little complicated, but once you get the hang of it, it is fine. Used it on a recent camping trip and probably made 20 espresso’s with ease.

Is it the best espresso? NOPE, but you can compensate with good coffee pods. Using ground coffee requires playing with the right amount of grounds and coffee brand. For me, it is both fun and delicious to make a cup anywhere I feel like.

Great product!!
For work I live on the road out of hotels for most of the year and frankly I was getting pretty sick of hotel coffee. This makes it super easy to make my iced lattes every morning no issue 🙂 I will say that I have actually had 2- my first one broke unexpectedly and upon reaching out to the number in the manual if theres an issue, they IMMEDIATELY sent me a new one no questions asked. Really great customer service, and my new one has no issues. I will say the only “downside” is that it is a little loud to use so if you are sharing space it can be a little disruptive in the morning. Other than that though I have no complaints and its greatly improved my mornings!

Better than expected
I am truly surprised at how well this works with capsules as well as my own coffee grind in the supplied pod. I’ve used it at home as well as in my vehicle while on the move. The one thing that is not stated in the instructions is that the cup must be securely attached to it or it will not release the water. To clarify you cannot just hold this above a different cup and let it Brew into it, it must be brewed into the supplied cup and then poured into a different cup (glass). However, that will not lower my review in any way as I just use the supplied cup and make a small Americano by adding additional hot water to the espresso shots. I am happy with the capsules made my Lor. Cost effective and the darker the roast the better flavor for me.

MAKES GREAT ESPRESSO!
This would be great for camping, traveling, work or anywhere you don’t have an espresso machine available.Makes a nice, strong espresso with a nice crema. I have been using this for a week so far. It heated the water just fine. I got 4 cups from each charge, charging does take a while. I did not try using cold water for a cold brew yet or putting already hot water in to save power. I tried both Nespresso pods and ground espresso powder, both with great results. The size is just right for a camper van’s tight space which is where I plan to use this. I was disappointed there was no case included to keep clean/protect my purchase. I found a perfect, padded one at the grocery store which is a Jetsetter insulated sleeve for the Blendjet portable blender and it cost me $14. I recommend buying this if you need espresso in the morning as much as I do, it does the job perfectly.

Espresso Time!
Fantastic all the way around! I get my instant fix in just 4min I think it is, or 2 if I use hot water. The only thing I’m not crazy for is how many times you have to charge it. After 3/4 cups I’m having to charge it again. It’s perfect for taking to work though, and tastes great with my Lavazza espresso. I really am in awe of this unit.

How do I buy stock in this company?
I’ve probably sold 20 of these things in the last month showing mine off to people. Love it! Don’t buy the official case. It’s crap and the strap rips off very easily. You can find a case of similar dimensions on this site. My only complaint is it should come with a case like other brands, and of better quality with a strap on the short end so it doesn’t get so much stress when you clip it to a bag.

Best PORTABLE Espresso Machine for Those on the Go
I’ve used several types of manual espresso gadgets for camping / on-the-go and I have to say that, together with the Nespresso Original shape pods (Starbucks, Lavazza, Illy, etc), having store bought espresso is no longer a problem with the OUTIN. I bought a separate portable water heater flask to boil water in order to get more cups out of the OUTIN. So far, with one charge, I’ve been able to get about three weeks worth of daily coffee (2-3 cups per day) and I haven’t had to recharged it yet. It’s simple, clean and no mess. In addition, for those who prefers to tamp their coffee, the OUTIN also takes ground coffee. It’s an amazing little gadget that you don’t have to manually pump/push to get that golden honey creamy crema. Get it, you won’t regret it.

Amazing for travel
I travel for work and would literally take my Breville Barista machine with me everywhere. I can’t go without my espresso. This thing has saved me a ton of space, not to mention when I have to fly. Really does draw a good shot, obviously not a good as the big machine but damn close. Love how fast it heats up and it’s easy to clean. Now I just need to find better coffee in these little Nespresso pods and I’ll be all set for my travels.

This is simply the easiest, smallest and most attractive product to make a quick cup of homemade espresso. Has allowed me to ditch my Nespresso routine completely. When I did have a technical problem with the device several months after purchase, they overnighted me a replacement right away. I would certainly buy from this company again.

Excellent product!
I’m an intern, so I spend countless hours in a hospital and coffee is a survival necessity. I like good coffee, and this delivers. I always use hot water, because it saves battery and goes faster. Can use nespresso style capsules or powder coffee, both with excellent results. 100% recommend it! It’s small, kinda the size of a travel mug, but it is a little heavy, heavier than what I had expected. Not a problem though, just surprising.

This is PERFECT
I have been looking for something like this for years… All of the other options have been manual, or they do not have the heating element… This little espresso machine is so compact and it hits the espresso up hot and it pushes it all out without leaving any water behind. The espresso taste wonderful and considering it’s battery powered. It’s very fast… taking about four minutes to heat up.Make sure to read the instructions… A two second press makes it heat up and then it will automatically start when it’s hot. At five second press will get it to extract the espresso right away in case you added water the was already hot. This little machine is very well-built.I couldn’t be more happy about this because I travel a lot. The battery lasts 4 heated brews for me… I charged the battery to full before using, that’s really important to get the best battery capacity for its lifetime.Buy one! Enjoy! It’s freaking awesome!

Winner!
I think this is the hands-down winner of portable espresso machines. I have tried 5 other machines, from manual pump style to full auto like this one. This does it all very well! Perfect size for travel. Simple and clean style machine. Few parts and super simple cleaning (i do mainly use nespresso capsules). If you don’t have hot water available, it will take care of that, but does use a good bit of battery resources (no different from the other machines ). However, if you do have hot water, this little machine bangs out a beautiful espresso in seconds and a full charge will go a long way when not using the heating element.

Didn’t realize that it has a function to heat the water if you don’t have access to boiling water. I’ve used it now with both the ground espresso and the Nespresso. Both work well. But the Nespresso is quick and easy.

Works just like it’s supposed to
This product works exactly as it’s supposed to, the instructions are pretty clear and simple. It arrived really quickly in nice packaging. My only dislike and it’s a personal dislike because it is made to be portable (which is great) and obviously it can’t make a large amount, the amount it does make is pretty small for me I wish it could make slightly more at a time. That being said it’s still a great portable product and worth looking into if you’re looking for a nice traveling espresso maker.

Nespresso machine
It gives you 3 full nespresso shots. Works great. Highly recommend…………Since posting this last review I feel the need to change it. It only lasted me 3 months. It now only makes one shot and pretty much stops working. I’m back to using my Wacaco manuel espresso machine. I can only use room temperature water with it. I only can access hot water on my days off work at my hotel. This really bums me out as i was singing praises for Outin. I never bought an extended warranty. If they choose to replace or fix this one, we’ll see, I may change the review….Needed cleaning. Works great again…..I can only get one cup per charge now. The cheaper machine I bought is actually working better. I cleaned it by running vinegar and then water. Really disappointed because I live out of my SUV and enjoy a good cup of espresso.

Ease of use
This appears to be an upgrade of earlier models. This version is simple to setup and use. One button operation. Includes both pod and loose coffee options. Only improvement would be a case to keep everything together

So cool! Works great.
Have used one for years where you have to add hot water and manually pump. So amazing to have one where it heats the water and disperses automatically. Will make this WAY more practical for travel.

Great espresso on the go – very impressed!
Love the machine – used it on a 3 week road trip for 3-4 espressos per day. I use it on the go at the park or the beach. Great customer service too. Highly recommended!

Easy, good espresso.
This thing is awesome. I fly in the airlines and spend a fortune buying coffees. I don’t really want large volume, and I love espresso, so this thing is perfect. Use espresso ground coffee or the capsules. Easy peasy.
