    Creamy Coffee Goodness!

I orginally picked up a single serve packet at Natural Grocers of this yummy stuff and had to have more! I am a busy mom and some mornings I am just too burned out to brew a pot of coffee. I love having this on hand so I can just nuke some water and have coffee ready in just a minute. It is so creamy and I don’t have to add anything to the cup. My fiance isn’t a coffee drinker but he drinks so much of this I can’t keep it around! I like very strong coffee so I simply add more scoops than it says on the package and I’m good to go.

    Taste amazing!

So this stuff is amazing. I initially purchased it to use while camping. It is just as it says coffee and creamer so it’s not sweet. I usually add a packet of sweetener and it’s just right. I was surprised how good it was and I drink it daily now.

I Really Wanted To Like This, But . . . No

Big fan of the Laird unsweetened coconut creamer which I add to my instant coffees, so I thought I’d give this a try, particularly since I like to take instant coffee+creamer with me out backpacking. And this stuff is no good. Doesn’t mix well and has a bitter taste. This is compared to my Alpine start pre-mixed coffee+creamer, which though much more expensive, tastes fantastic. This is a definite miss for me.

    I love it!

I fell into the habit of buying a starbucks coffee everyday, which is tough on the body (so much sugar and calories! ) and the wallet. I bought Instafuel to 1) get off the Starbucks wagon, 2) be healthier, and 3) have a more convenient option than having to sit in a drive-thru or inside a busy coffee shop. Its been a week and I already look forward to my cup of Instafuel when I get to work. I’m going to buy a bag for home too!If your a coconut oil user or bulletproof coffee lover, give Instafuel a try. This stuff is delicious and so far I’ve had no caffeine crash in the afternoon.

    Good tasting for instant coffee

This isn’t as good as Vietmanese brand Trung Nguyen instant coffees, but it is great for larger size cups and overall bulk packaging. I like to use this when I am in a rush. It hits the spot the morning or after lunch.

    Bitter haters beware

Holy moly…I can’t tell if everyone who likes this is now missing their sugar taste buds due to Keto or if I’m just the bitter coffee loathing maniac here. The coffee is so, SO bitter. We did everything to make it not so (added creamer, tried salt, tried less mix) to no avail. It DOES fill you up and if you are cool with very bitter and a layer of frothy fat on top this is a worthy buy. Not a bad product but not for me. Bitter haters beware.

Would you like some coffee with your fat?

I don’t know if I would go as far a calling fat a superfood, but I’m old fashioned. Greasy coagulated layer of fat on very mild tasting coffee. Definitely will not buy again and regret not looking at the fat content prior to purchase.

Really tasty and no artificial taste

I don’t normally tolerate coffee well but I like having a warm drink when I wake up and I appreciate some caffeine in the AM. I really like this coffee I was on the fence because of the coconut sugar since other brands products have left a weird taste in my mouth when they added sugar. This is not too sweet and it is balanced out with coconut oil to avoid any endocrine imbalance. I really enjoy this and I’m a tough sell so I think you will love it too.

    love this stuff!

i mix mine with an extra scoop, very strong.easier on my tummy to only drink 1 cup, than a half pot of strong coffee.it is better if you use the mixer, i dont normally.just add 14 of the water stir like mad, fill to half stir & top off.

    Premium Price Without Premium Ingredients

Laird is undoubtedly amazing! I love their products. I buy them only when they go on sale or I have a promo code but i wish all their ingredients were organic. The coconut powder and freeze dried arabica coffee is not organic and I would expect more from a brand that charges premium prices. According to a question posted above and answered by Laird they have been working on making this product organic for 5 years now! Don’t know what the hold up is. I don’t drink Instafuel everyday because it is not organic and that is a bummer. But I would make the transition to having it regularly and paying full price if it was a clean product and 100% Organic.

    Excellent Product!!! Delicious!

I was hesitant to buy this product because of the price point and concern whether it would actually taste good. I can say that the flavor is delicious. This is a high quality flavor that you won’t find elsewhere. Next, the price seemed high, but you get more than the listed servings. It says you should use 4 TB per cup, but I used 2 and that was strong. If you find the same situation you can pretty much double the servings. Lastly, I can say the energy I felt from this drink was much more balanced than a standard caffeine boost. It may have been a placebo, but nonetheless it was excellent. I will absolutely be buying this again. I found a staple! Laird comes through with high quality again.

Great product! Simple healthy ingredients give you clean sustained energy. And super convenient.

Reasons that I LOVE Laird Superfood Instafuel:- Instafuel is essentially Laird Superfood creamer combined with instant coffee in the same package. All you need to do is put a spoonful or two into your cup, add hot water, and mix. And you get a great tasting high quality cup of coffee.- Instafuel is cost effective, shelf stable, and super convenient. And for these reasons it’s also easy to travel with.- I would recommend getting the electric frother from Laird Superfood for the best mixing/frothing experience.- Instafuel is a far better alternative than a fake product like coffee mate which has tons of chemical additives in it.- One of the main ingredients in Instafuel is coconut oil which has been shown to have many health benefits to your immune system, brain function, and gut health- Instafuel is dairy/gluten/GMO free- The products are designed and used by Laird Hamilton and Gabby Reece, both world class athletes and health experts. They are both incredibly physically fit and around the age of 50… it’s a great sign for the quality of the products and the sustained energy you’ll get from them.

Be aware one serving is 4 tablespoons making it $1.50+/cup

I love Laird products and have been buying it for years. I was looking forward to getting a coffee I could just add water to for when I travel. Tried this coffee and I was surprised to find out that I had to use the full 4 tablespoons to get a decent cup of coffee making it quite expensive per cup at more that $1.50/cup. I usually drink my coffee black and this tasted a bit bitter to me. With this said, I still think it will be a good option for travel or camping when you just need a quick cup of coffee by just adding hot water.

    SO SO SO SO Good!

Okay so I’ve been looking for a vegan “cappuccino-type” instant coffee mix for a while now, and none pleased me. So I gave this a try. The price (that’s the only negative) is rather challenging but I wanted to give it a try. It came quickly, the bag contains all kinds of valuable nutritional information you’d need (maybe add how much caffeine is in one serving!? But it doesn’t have too much sugar which I like, and no added fiber crap etc like so many others).I open the bag, and…. it does NOT smell very appetizing, kinda like an artificial coconut trying to dress up as coffee… I was very skeptical. But tah-dah – when you add hot water & turn it into an actual drink, it tastes AMAZING!! Exactly as I wanted it to taste, bit of coffee, bit of (healthier) creamer, hint of sweet – all in all just exactly enough cappuccino-y as desired! The price is still very high, but it’s okay since it’s healthier (and better for the planet) than the cheap, dairy-milk, sugar-laden crap I’d been buying at the store… very happy with this coffee mix!

You need to use a full 4 Tbls to get something you can drink!

I think I expected this to be sweet, creamy, and delicious. (Think: those International Coffee commercials). It’s not. It’s more of a “gets the job done” kind of product. The pouch looks enormous, but then I saw that they recommend 4TBLS for a cup: and they’re not kidding. Less than that and you have murky brown water that you won’t want to drink. I was expecting more like a teaspoon or two!. Make it thick and you may still have to sweeten it to make it palatable. Maybe it will turn me into some kind of business dynamo. I doubt it.

    Instafuel is Awesome!

Purchased Laird Instafuel hopefully optimistic based on all the positive reviews, I am so glad I did! It arrived this afternoon & I immediately made a cup. First of all it has a lovely coffee aroma accented with a nutty coconut scent. Upon brewing I was surprised with a little foam reminiscent of a perfect crème. Finally, the flavor, delicioso! Seriously, perfect bit of bitter, cream, & just the right amount of sweet to offset the bitter. All of that including the health & convenience factors, it’s a win win win! Give it a try guys!Minor gripes- the package seems to be a bit dirty and sticky on the outside, with multiple sticker labels stuck all over the backside, and about shipping- it was placed in the box upside down (intentionally because there were other things in the box which could’ve supported it upright) which led to the zipper seal being filled with granules, which prevented the zipper from closing… I had to take a new dry toothbrush & brush it clean to get it to close. Will still be ordering more though!

    Great short term substitute

I’ve been drinking bulletproof coffee’s for about 2 years now. I love them. Occasionally when I go out of town or I run out of my goods I like to have something on hand to substitute my beautiful concoction. THIS IS NOT A PERFECT SUBSTITUTE. It is sweet. My husband says too sweet. I’d have to agree. I believe he actually gets headaches from it, but he’s sensitive. When I use this I like to add my hot water and then I actually add one of the other mushroom instant coffee mixes to it as well to cut the sweetness. It works for me. Short term. Also, from time to time I like to add this to my regular bulletproof in the morning just to spice things up.

    Very coconut forward.

Not a fan of coconut flavored things, so at first I was really put off by the smell and taste. Happy to report that either the coconut toned down after opening the package, or I got used to it. It was much nicer after that. Blends great, rich flavor. Ended up adding a bit of instant espresso to give it a little more coffee taste. Won’t get it again, but glad I tried itIt was a good taste test and as usual a good Laird value. Just wish it had mentioned how strong the coconut and how light the coffee is, lol.I keep the Laird coffee in the pantry, so I’m always happy to try their stuff. I know it will be quality and worth the experiment even if I don’t love it.

    Hooked

Tried this when a friend had it and I got addicted. I love the taste and the consistency. Tend to mix it with the hot chocolate with functional mushrooms for the mocca flavor. The only part I do not like is that it is not as creamy as I’d like it, so I add some plant based milk for that. I do love the bitter taste that then is replaced by a slight sweetness, but not at all overpowering. It’s been a good starter for the morning and I just re-ordered and also trying the chai – let’s see how that is. Unfortunately the powder does not resolve perfectly and there tends to be some clumps at the bottom of the cup, but that could probably be handled with blending – if one has time for that (I don’t)

Meh coffee, didn’t give me much bounce.

I need more bounce/go juice than it gave me to elaborate. Was not juiced up, charged or as productive as I may like. Mixed with flavored creamer and it tasted okay, did not bother my sensitive stomach and stirred well in warm water, so if those things matter and you don’t need a huge jolt of give a crap and get moving, it’s fine. If you need a big revving engine of GO it is meh.

5 stars for instant coffee, provided you like blonde / light roast

I am a camper and always searching for a decent instant coffee. I prefer my coffee with half/half or bit of milk, and no sugar, so when I saw this unsweetened version of the product I thought I’d give it a chance. In my opinion, it is *by far* the best instant coffee I’ve ever had: well balanced, nutty coffee flavor notes, pleasantly but not overwhelmingly creamy, no overwhelming acid. Some important caveats: I prefer blonde/light roasts (I think Starbucks burns most of their regular roasts) so this is perfect, as the coffee is definitely roasted on the “light” side. Also, I enjoy coconut flavors, and the creamer here is definitely (but not overwhelmingly) mildly flavored of coconut. It has a *very* mild, natural sweetness emanating from the coconut extracts in the creamer, similar to but milder than natural lactose sweetness. Overall, it makes for a great combo, and perfect for a morning on the trail. If you like your coffee like I’ve described above, go for it, this stuff is not cheap but fantastic.

Too many carbs – too expensive

It wasn’t bad. I used it to make iced coffee mostly. The coffee blended well. I had hoped the plant-based creamers already in the formula would suffice but I had to add cream because it was a little bitter.I won’t be buying it again mainly because of the carb count. Get clumps out with battery-operated stirrer

Laird orig coffee doesn’t dehydrate so I’ve been able to use 1 tbs daily for a yr. I mix it with Coffeemate & the Laird stirrer (which isn’t very powerful but is cheap & gets rid of the clumps pretty much completely). 1 tbs + creamer makes this a mild flavor, which I normally like, but even this is too mild for me. I would either increase the tbs or lessen the creamer, but neither had the right flavor/boldness for me so I’ve stuck w/this ratio. To each his own on that. Good energy, no jitters, no headaches from dehydration.I wish they would seal the ziploc at the top of the pkg before shipping. It’s always messy to open the top of every bag I’ve bought because the powder isn’t contained below the seal.

Taste isn’t bad, if you want a little sweetness add a small amount of your preferred product. Used my hand mixer to whisk it and it blended fine. Super small hint of coconut which I enjoy anyways. Perfect for upcoming backpack trip!

    Great taste & products!

I’m now on my 3rd bag! My Brother in Law told me about this brand and luckily I got to try his before I bought it & fell in love instantly. I hadn’t found a coffee I enjoyed until now. I was nervous buying this revamped bag of insta fuel as I loved the green bag but I’m so glad I did. With the green bag I using way more scoops causing me to need to repurchase sooner than expected and blending was not as easy. Now I am using the 4 recommended scoops and loving the flavor and as shown in pic there is some separation with blending but doesn’t bother & I’m not tasting little chunks anymore! I also purchased the coffee grounds medium roast, and I will sometimes brew a cup and add a bit of insta fuel to it! This has also helped with me not flying through bags as often. Definitely recommend this product!

    not sold as advertised

I really enjoyed the Lairds instant coffee the first time I purchased it, which came in a 16oz bag.( the same one that is shown in the picture.) what I received is an 8oz bag ( to be fair ,its clearly stated in the verbiage 8oz) but the bag is different(brown bag) and the coffee doesn’t taste the same. Not to mention 41$ is a bit steep for 8oz of coffee. I would really like to find the 16oz green bag that I enjoyed the first time.If you haven’t tried this instant coffee I do recommend it. its perfect for camping or vacation .(the green bag).

Great Travel/Quick Substitute for Bulletproof Coffee

I’m a Bulletproof coffee drinker, and I’ve been on the hunt for a product I can use as a substitute while traveling or in a hurry, etc. I tried another product, Coffee Blocks, and was disappointed. It tasted pretty bad. Anyway, I was pretty hopeful this Laird Superfood Instafuel would be different. I went on an overnight work trip yesterday and tossed the Instafuel pouch in my bag. This morning at the hotel I put a couple of scoops in some hot water, it stirred easily with a spoon, and damn if it didn’t taste pretty good. Not fresh made Bulletproof, but good nonetheless. I ended up having 3 cups, if that means anything. Great product! My only recommendation to Laird Superfood is to consider putting a measuring scoop in the bag. It would be handy.

Taste good, if you like coconut

The coffee taste smooth and good, great coconut flavor. In my opinion, price is not cheap, not like your regular instant coffee cheap, but you get what you paid for.I like to add just a small teaspoon of brown sugar and add 3 to 4 teaspoon scope full of the coffee, with hot water, cannot go wrong. If you like coconut and good coffee, you should give it a try.

    “meh”. wish it was better

Been looking for the “perfect instant coffee” for backpacking. Several people liked this one… the fact it had creamer in it I hoped it would be good. So this doesn’t really taste like traditional normal coffee. It’s not bad, it’s just “not coffee” . it’s like that moco-capicino that used to come in a metal pop top can when I was a kid. Lots of Mocha flavor. But just lacked on awesomeness of tasting like real coffee.Surely wasn’t worth $10 bucks for 8 ounce bag.If you like Mocho chocolate taste this would be great for you though. But for me, it’s not a “buy again”

Makes a great cup of instant coffee!

This instant coffee is so much different than plain old crystals. It has a very nice, somewhat sweet and coconut the flavor. I started using it because where I work, they got a one of those coffeemakers that uses those little tiny plastic things, a Carrig it has a very nice, somewhat sweet and coconut tea flavor. I started using it because where I work, they got a one of those coffeemakers that uses those little tiny plastic things, a Keirug. My spelling for Keirig is wrong I know I am not a fan of that type of coffee, so this instant provide me with a way to make a quick cup of coffee at work just with hot water. Very convenient and flavorful as an alternative to the mini cops so prevalent today.

Tasty but Weak on Coffee Flavor

Knowing that Laird is a coffee connoisseur, I was surprised that the coffee in Instafuel is as weak as it is. As compared to any of the Starbucks Via instant coffees, this is not bold tasting at all. I added an additional tablespoon to my six ounce cup and it was still weak. That said, the flavor reminded me of the old General Foods International instant coffees I was hooked on as a high schooler. So, the taste was not bad. As another reviewer said, maybe a good treat alternative to hot chocolate, or when I need a pick me up but don’t want my usual dark roast. Not sure this will be my go to cuppa in the morning! Next time, I’ll try the creamer alone and add it to my normal morning joe. Definitely worth it to put it in the blender or Vitamix or use a hand immersion blender.

    Creamy dreamy coconutty deliciousness

Wow! I recently discovered a lactose intolerance and I love to have a creamy coffee once in a while (I drink mostly pour over black coffee). I’m going on a camping trip and needed to pack something with me that wouldn’t be crappy instant coffee so I gave this one a try (I heard about this brand from Laird appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast). WOW!! What a great instant coffee with a creamy non dairy texture and taste. I love coconut and this has a nice sweet coconut hint to it- part of the nice texture comes from the coconut fat and I really love it. So impressed and might even drink this at home!

love it – can’t beat the convenience. i’ve given it to some friends and they love it too

it’s amazing that instant coffee plus creamer could taste so good. My favorite Laird Superfood product to use is the original creamer mixed in with a coffee that I make myself. But insta fuel is a close second and you can’t beat it when you’re traveling or in a hurry because all you need to do is add hot water. I’ve given instafuel to several of my friends to try and they’ve all loved it and ordered it themselves afterwards. I work in finance and I’ve given it to a few coworkers also who love it and now use it as part of their daily coffee routine. One of them was a black coffee drinker and says that insta fuel tastes better and keeps his appetite satiated for much longer.
